Carlton Cuse Interview From China Tv/Film Forum

LOST writer Carlton Cuse, along with Ugly Betty writer were a part of a TV and Film Forum in China to discuss their shows and answer some questions about the industry.

Here is a little summary of the key moments from Cuse including some of the spoilers he revealed for Season 5. There is also a tidbit about OGR at Comic-Con.

Thanks to EJ for the details and the heads up about the videos.

1) Jack v Locke (Science v. Faith) – One of the mendasar themes of show. In Season 5 Jack will become more a Man of Faith and Locke will become more a Man of Science. Locke believes his destiny is tied to this island. This will be a story line that we will explore in the upcoming seasons.

2) We will learn what happened to Locke and the others. Also, now what is Locke’s destiny since he is in “charge” of the island? He has committed his destiny to this island and thinks that it will lead him to enlightenment. We will eventually see if he is right or not.

3) Locke’s story is not over. There is a famous guy named Jesus Christ that was resurrected.

4) We already know what Bandar Ceme our path is and people make mistakes in theories, because there is no simple answer and they do not have enough information

5) Sawyer is his favorite: Handsome, charming and dangerous, everything he would want to be.

6) He gives a shout out to Skaters and Jaters and then mentions that we call them Darlton. Kate will end up with one of the two eventually.

7) New LOST interactive game start at Comic-Con, register to become a member of Dharma Initiative. Depending on how you do on the test you will be a Physicist, Chemist, or even a Workman.

8) Production starts in August and Season 5 will air from January to May 2009.

9) Talks a about Piracy, online downloading, some things about writing and more.

10) Does being a producer affect your story writing? No, we write first with out being a producer and then put on producers “hat”. Explains this is the reason why we got an extra hour for Season 4 finale. Do not want to censor themselves as producers.

11) Discusses picketing during the writers strike and why it happened.

NOTE: LOST informasi is spread over both clips and some information for Ugly Betty mixed in.

Naveen On The End Of The Show

Thanks to Lyly for translating the magazine scan below.

for translating the magazine scan below Naveen on the End of the ShowDo you know how will end the show ?
The finale will be on the island, apart from that, I don’t know any thing in advance, This is what makes the job fascinating but frustrating. I just hope all mysteries will be resolved in a smart way.

Do you make suggestions to the writers?
Rarely. During season1, i suggested that Sayid lived a romance with someone on the island, and they created his relationship with Shannon. But it wasn’t very long…I would like my character to live a new romance in Season 5.

Malcolm David Kelly Interview

Here is an interesting little interview of Malcolm David Kelly who plays Walt. Nothing too shocking or major, but Kelly confirms that he is NOT on call for Season 5. He also says that he knows that something will probably “pop up” and thinks (hopes) that we could see him and father Michael via flashbacks.

Here is the LOST portion of the interview:

Here is an interesting little interview of Malcolm David Kelly who plays Walt Malcolm David Kelly InterviewCrave Online: It was great to see you back on Lost finally.

Malcolm David Kelly: Thank you, appreciate it.

Crave Online: How was it to get back after all this time?

Malcolm David Kelly: It was cool. I mean, just going back and going back to Hawaii and seeing everybody, all my friends and family back there. It was nice and amazing, I love it.

Crave Online: So you had a reunion with the whole cast?

Malcolm David Kelly: Oh yeah, oh yeah. The cast, every time I go out there, we go out and eat. Or every time I’m back in LA when we have a break like this, we’re all hanging out.

Crave Online: Were you in a holding pattern just waiting to find out when they’d have Walt back?

Malcolm David Kelly: Yeah, and working. Whenever they call me and let me know when they want me to come back, I’ll just go out there and shoot and come back home and keep working.

Crave Online: Were you ever worried that so much time was passing?

Malcolm David Kelly: Yeah, I thought they were either going to try to recast me or just kill me off or something like that. I’m grateful that I’m still on there.

Crave Online: Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse told us they’d worked your aging into the story. Did they tell you not to sweat it?

Malcolm David Kelly: No, they didn’t tell me not to sweat it. I’m still sweating a little bit but then when I found out I was my normal age, then it all worked out. Everything should be cool. That meant I should come back.

Crave Online: Now that Lost has been on for a few years, can you appreciate it as a fan?

Malcolm David Kelly: The show is great. There’s still nothing else out there like this show so that’s always amazing for TV and it’s amazing for me.

Crave Online: When you finally got a script with Walt in it, how satisfied were you with where he was at that point?

Malcolm David Kelly: I was glad and especially the age factor like we talked about. I’m glad I got to play my normal age so I wouldn’t have to change my voice like I’ve been trying to do and make it higher in scenes and everything like that. So that’s a pretty cool transition.

Crave Online: How about his adjustment back to home life and his relationship with his father?

Malcolm David Kelly: I thought that was pretty cool but then my dad died on the show so I won’t be seeing him too much anymore, but I’m still going to see him in real life. In flashbacks, hopefully they give us enough where we still get to keep working together so I’m looking forward to it.

Crave Online: Are you on call for the upcoming season?

Malcolm David Kelly: No, not that they’ve told me so far but I know something probably is going to pop up.

Crave Online: Because now we’re bouncing back and forth.

Malcolm David Kelly: Yeah, we can go anywhere they want to with those writers.
